Job summary

Berry-It Inc. in Kokomo, IN is seeking a Splicer II to install, prepare and troubleshoot fiber optic cables on-site.

The role requires knowledge of fiber types, cables, color codes and splicing techniques, and includes testing, troubleshooting and documenting fiber-related issues. Responsibilities include following safety rules, working with customers, documenting GPS coordinates, and achieving quality pass rates on splices.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Splicer I training course and 1000 hours in the field splicing.
• CDL preferred; For-Hire Endorsement may be required.
• DOT Physical required; 21+ years old; able to work in all weather conditions.
• Color vision and fiber splicing knowledge essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, prepare and troubleshoot fiber optic cables.
• Test, troubleshoot and document fiber issues and GPS coordinates.
• Follow safety rules and customer requirements; communicate with management and customers.
• Inspect and label cables, prep and splice a full 144F with high quality.
