Job summary

E2 Optics in Columbus, OH, seeks a skilled Fiber Splicer to install and terminate high-count fiber networks on customer sites. You will read blueprints, splice fibers to exact specs, and coordinate with project teams to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires 3+ years in structured cabling or fiber splicing, OSHA 30 within two weeks, and ability to travel as needed. We offer competitive pay, training, and a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 within first 2 weeks of role.
• 3+ years work experience in structured cabling, installing, terminating, and splicing.
• Minimum 1 year in fiber splicing or related construction.
• Single and Ribbon Fiber splicing experience.
• ISP and OSP experience.
• Read, write and understand English.
• Able to read blueprints and schematics; distinguish color codes.
• Basic computer skills; Windows-based programs.
• Knowledge of EXFO OTDR and EXFO OLTS testing.
• Proactive, dependable, good time management; safety-focused.
• Willing to travel; days/nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and client worksite rules.
• Read splice records and perform fiber splicing per records.
• Assist project team with installation activities.
• Terminate and breakout outside fiber.
• Pull and splice high-count OSP fiber cables.
• Maintain job site organization and housekeeping.
• Interpret floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
• Understand materials and methods for structured cabling systems.
• Furcate large strand count fiber (3456-6912).
• Troubleshoot, read splice records and blueprints.
• Travel as required by E2 Optics; meet deadlines.
