Job summary

AFL in Duncan, SC is seeking a Certified Technician to safely operate production lines manufacturing fiber optic cable products for telecom customers. You will follow procedures, focus on quality, productivity, and cost control.

You will work in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment on a 12-hour rotating shift (7pm–7am), including nights and weekends, reporting to a crew supervisor and supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Able to comprehend and follow work instructions and use measurement devices.
• Physically capable of lifting 15–50 pounds and standing for long periods.
• Strong communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and promote environmental, health & safety policies.
• Maintain acceptable attendance per AFL policies.
• Adhere to production schedule, minimize changeover times, meet production goals.
• Produce products that meet or exceed specifications.
• Enter production and quality data using a computer.
• Achieve and maintain assigned production process certifications.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
• Assist other operators with machine setup and operation as needed.
• Document and report quality issues.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
