Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or similar Engineering.
• 1-year practical experience in manufacturing environment; internships/co-ops acceptable.
• Knowledge of extrusion, polymer processing, and optical fiber handling a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for fiber optic cable production.
• Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve defects and maintain product integrity.
• Work with vendors on equipment upgrades and maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with R&D on process requirements for new fiber optic cable designs.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Provide technical support to production teams for process-related issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
