Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes for fiber optic cable production. The role collaborates with production, quality, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and support new product introductions.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and about 1 year of manufacturing experience, with strong analytical, SPC, and Lean/Six Sigma skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related field.
  • 1 year manufacturing experience; internships/co-ops acceptable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with SPC and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for fiber optic cable production.
  • Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve defects and maintain product integrity.
  • Work with vendors on equipment upgrades and maintenance strategies.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Provide technical support to production teams for process-related issues; perform root cause analysis.
