Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or 2+ years in fiber optic or telecom inspection, be able to read blueprints, and hold OSHA 10/30 and CPR if possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of related work experience in fiber optic, telecommunications, or utility inspection roles.
• Ability to read blueprints and wire diagrams.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic cable types, installation techniques, splice enclosures, handholes, conduit systems, and pole/aerial standards.
• OSHA 10/30 and CPR certifications a plus.
• Active driver's license and ability to travel to construction sites daily.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily fiber optic construction activities, including trenching, aerial installation, duct placement, splicing, testing, and restoration.
• Verify that construction work follows approved engineering drawings, specifications, and permitting requirements.
• Inspect underground and aerial pathways to ensure proper depth, separation, support, and protective measures.
• Assess contractor workmanship for compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain logs.
• Coordinate corrective actions with construction crews.
• Serve as on-site liaison between engineering teams, contractors, and project managers.
