L3Harris Technologies in Norfolk, VA seeks an Assembly C (ASSC) to fabricate, test, and assemble cable assemblies with copper and fiber optic paths. You will work from drawings and data sheets, performing kitting, termination, polishing, and testing to meet exacting standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience, or 2 years post-secondary/Associates with 2 years related experience.
• Experience terminating fiber optic cables and polishing fiber ferrules using machine methods.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic testing.
• Attention to detail in quality control and maintaining test data records.
• Familiarity with advanced cleaning methods and contaminant-free environments.
• Ability to ensure fiber optic termination meets industry and military specifications.
• Works under limited supervision; knowledge of fiber optic test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform kitting of cable/connector parts and cut cables to required lengths per drawings.
• Terminate fiber optic cables.
• Polish fiber ferrules using machine methods.
• Test fiber optic cables (insertion loss, return loss).
• Troubleshoot with optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR).
• Visual inspection using FOVIS; end-face inspection using interferometer.
• Maintain detailed test data records.
• Set up and operate cable analyzers for Hipot testing.
