Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or 2-year degree with relevant experience.
• Experience terminating fiber optic cables and polishing ferrules.
• Strong understanding of fiber-optic testing and terminology.
• Attention to detail and thorough documentation of results.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods to maintain a contaminant-free environment.
• Ability to meet industry and military fiber termination standards.
• Capable of working with limited supervision and using fiber test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Kitting cable/connector parts and cutting cables to drawings.
• Inspect assemblies at various stages for conformance to drawings.
• Terminate fiber optic cables and polish ferrules.
• Test cables for insertion loss and return loss.
• Operate OTDR and inspect with FOVIS and interferometer.
• Maintain detailed test data records and quality checks.
• Set up and operate cable analyzers for Hipot testing.
