Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking a Fiber Optic Applications Technician to support R&D and production, handling fiber splicing, testing, and integration in the SPARC machine, working night shift from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.

Requirements include 4+ years in fiber optics field applications and expertise with attenuation, spectral analysis, and measurement tools (OTDR, OSA, OBR, power meters).

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in fiber optics field applications.
• Experience taking attenuation, insertion loss, and spectral analysis measurements.

Responsibilities

• Handle, route, splice, test, and repair thousands of fibers in the SPARC fusion machine.
• Perform mechanical integration of small assemblies with fiber work.
• Install wrapping for fibers and enclosures; train technicians as needed.
• Improve safety protocols for laser and fiber optic handling.
• Fulfill manufacturing and R&D fiber needs.
