Job summary

Primoris Services Corp. seeks a skilled fiber optic technician to perform specialized technical duties in repair, maintenance, construction and splicing of customer networks.

You will respond to emergency calls, conduct tests, perform panel prep and OSP/ISP closures, and ensure the network functions before leaving the site.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience, familiarity with EXFO IOLM/OTDR/OLTS, and be willing to obtain OSHA 10 within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in fiber optics fieldwork.
• Ability to read, write, and perform high school level math.
• Apprenticeship/internship or equivalent experience for 1–2 years.
• Osha 10 - (to be completed within 90 days of employment)

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency repair calls for OSP/ISP fiber networks.
• Perform construction, splicing, and distribution changes of OSP and ISP fiber optic.
• Test OSP/ISP networks to troubleshoot problems.
• Make repairs on OSP/ISP facilities and verify functionality before leaving.
• Assist in inventory maintenance and notify when materials are needed.
• Night shift work is required due to maintenance.
• May be required to work weekends and holidays as service demands.
• Conduct complex technical duties in repair, maintenance, construction and splicing.
