Job summary

Ritter Communications is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to splice, terminate, and test fiber, coaxial, and copper for new builds and services. You will work with project managers and engineers, producing detailed field reports and ensuring splice closures are moisture-free.

The role requires 5 years in telecom construction, with 3 years of fiber splicing preferred, and a valid driver's license. Travel and on-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years in telecom construction or maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years of fiber splicing experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel for business as needed.
• Knowledge of industry standards (OSHA, FCC, DOT) and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Splice, terminate, and test fiber, coaxial, and copper for new construction and service installs.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers; provide detailed splice activity reports.
• Prepare cables and perform fusion splices for aerial and underground work.
• Ensure splice closures and terminations are airtight and moisture-free.
• Install demarcation equipment, inspect vaults, and maintain underground facilities.
• Operate and read fiber schematics and test reports; communicate findings to team.
• Travel to customer sites and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
