Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer in a hybrid Miami role to oversee OSP/ISP construction and maintenance for fiber projects. You will manage multi-stakeholder activities, ensure on-time delivery, and control costs while coordinating contractors and vendors.

You’ll travel up to 25% and collaborate across internal and external teams to meet deadlines and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant experience required.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
• Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design routes: Create maps for fiber optic cable paths.
• Manage permits: Work with local cities, towns and departments of transportation to secure rights-of-way permits.
• Coordinate with vendors, utility providers, and local government agencies.
• Estimate costs: Build budgets, material lists, and project timelines.
• Oversee construction: Direct contractors and check field work for quality.
• Respond to network outages addressing fiber damage for network restoration.
• Document systems: Manage and update records using systems such as Fiber-X and Canvas.
