Overview
We’re hiring a Fiber Network GIS Specialist who will be responsible for maintaining MWFN’s system of record and be responsible for creating, updating and maintaining maps, drawings or other records of MWFN’s facilities.
What You’ll Do
- Utilize network GIS technology to store, analyze and manage data that has been gathered from field surveys and other legacy records
- Work with MWFN’s system of record (Vetro) software
- Create, manipulate and edit spatial data as obtained from various sources, including CAD drawings, GPS data, as-built drawings, historical paper maps and handwritten schematics or survey notes
- Participate in hands-on data collection
- Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree in GIS or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in drafting preferred
- 5+ years of experience with interpreting utility, topographic, street or profile maps
- Experience with GIS software
- Strong understanding of fiber optics and dark fiber applications
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as technical specifications and construction prints
- Valid driver’s license and must be insurable

Temporarily based in Wauwatosa, WI (moving to Glendale, WI upon completion of renovations)
