Job summary

Socket Fiber in Missouri is seeking a seasoned GIS/OSP analyst to evaluate fiber expansion opportunities, analyze GIS data, review OSP designs, and support strategic network growth initiatives. You will conduct feasibility studies, assess financial impact of change requests, and prepare reports for leadership.

Collaborate with engineering, construction, and business teams to ensure accurate, efficient fiber network planning. Join a dynamic team focused on expanding high-speed connectivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Fiber Outside Plant (OSP) experience.
• Experience with GIS platforms and mapping technologies.
• Strong understanding of fiber network design, planning, and deployment practices.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience conducting cost analysis, feasibility studies, and financial impact assessments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll start your day collaborating with engineering, construction, and business teams to evaluate fiber expansion opportunities and support strategic network growth initiatives. Throughout the day, you'll analyze GIS data, review OSP designs, perform feasibility and cost analyses for new markets, and investigate discrepancies between GIS-generated documentation and project deliverables. Your expertise will help guide business decisions and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of fiber network planning efforts.

What We’re Looking For To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of Fiber Outside Plant (OSP) experience.


• Experience with GIS platforms and mapping technologies.


• Strong understanding of fiber network design, planning, and deployment practices.


• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.


• Experience conducting cost analysis, feasibility studies, and financial impact assessments.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

What Will Help You Stand Out Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ESRI systems, including ArcGIS.


• Experience using 3GIS software and related fiber network management tools.


• Background in telecommunications, broadband, or fiber network expansion projects.


• Experience supporting large-scale fiber construction or network deployment initiatives.
