Job summary

Lenoir City Utilities Board seeks a Fiber Design Engineer to support network expansion, upgrades, and maintenance. You will deliver detailed fiber design packages, verify site conditions, and update as-built records while collaborating with installation and OSP teams to ensure feasible designs.

Qualifications include 1–2 years in GIS/CAD design and fiber outside plant experience, with a preferred engineering/ GIS education. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Able to read color-coded construction prints, schematics and splice docs.
• 1–2 years using GIS or CAD design software.
• 1–2 years in fiber outside plant design (aerial/underground).

Responsibilities

• Conduct field verifications for sites to confirm conditions.
• Create fiber design packages: prints, splice plans, BOMs.
• Update as-built docs and maintain organized design records.
• Coordinate with Fiber Installation and OSP teams on feasibility.
• Assist with material planning and design standards documentation.
