Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Fiber Installation Technician to install, configure Wi‑Fi routers, test and secure customer acceptance of our FTTH service.

You will work with customers in home or business, handle indoor/outdoor fiber installs, GPON knowledge, and coordinate with dispatch to meet service objectives.

Strong interpersonal skills and safety awareness are essential; lifting up to 75 pounds and climbing up to 30 feet may be required.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ of fiber optics installation and maintenance experience; experience with GPON preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and clean driving record.
• Ability to set up Wi‑Fi networks and diagnose hardware/software issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber internet installations and resolve service tickets per codes and standards.
• Set up initial Wi‑Fi networks and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Perform basic fiber splicing with GPON knowledge.
• Document actions, readings, and resolutions in tickets/installation orders.
