Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Fiber Installation Technician to install fiber internet and configure Wi‑Fi routers, test services, and obtain customer acceptance of our FTTH service. The role requires handling inside and outdoor installations, GPON knowledge, and proactive issue resolution to ensure reliable service.

You’ll work directly with customers in homes or businesses, maintain safety standards, and collaborate with dispatch to complete jobs on schedule, while documenting all actions and results

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of fiber optics installation and maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of GPON, related terminals and equipment, and basic fiber splicing.
• Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly and work at heights up to 30 feet.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber internet installations and resolve service tickets following company and industry standards.
• Set up initial Wi‑Fi networks and diagnose hardware/software issues related to internet and Wi‑Fi connectivity.
• Perform basic fiber splicing and maintenance activities with working knowledge of GPON terminals and equipment.
• Document actions, measurements, and resolutions in installation orders or service tickets.
• Meet or exceed KPIs including install completion, quality, CSAT, and MTTR.
• Interact professionally with customers and coordinate with dispatch to complete assignments.
