Job summary

Flô Networks is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Technician in Midland, Texas to install and service fiber networks in data centers and field sites.

You will terminate fiber, test with OTDR and power meters, perform outages repairs, and coordinate with engineers. The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, a valid driver’s license, bilingual English/Spanish, and willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Driver’s license required.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Knowledge of safe installation practices for telecom infrastructure.
• Familiar with fiber optic cables, connectors, splicing, enclosures and terminations.
• Ability to use fiber test equipment such as OTDR and Power Meter.
• Industry certifications in fiber optic installation and testing are a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Willing to work overtime and respond to callouts.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs and tests fiber cable in various environments (underground, indoors, aerial).
• Performs fiber termination and splicing per design documentation.
• Tests and troubleshoots with fiber test equipment (OTDR, Power Meter).
• Installs and powers telecom equipment inside datacenters.
• Interprets engineering docs and maintains network documentation.
• Provides reactive and preventive maintenance for fiber networks.
• Follows safety policies and obtains outages/clearances.
• Manages equipment, test gear, and job materials; attends training.
• Reports job updates and network documentation using company software.
