Job summary

Lyte Fiber is seeking a detail-oriented GIS Fiber Designer to create low-level fiber designs and maintain network records. The role uses Vetro, QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and AutoCAD to convert field data into construction-ready designs for SMB, MDU, and greenfield projects.

The designer collaborates with field engineers to ensure designs match field conditions, manages bills of materials, and supports permitting with accurate construction prints. Houston-based, desk-driven position.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in GIS or equivalent experience preferred.
• At least 2 years designing fiber optic outside plant in GIS.
• Proficiency in Vetro and ArcGIS Pro required; ESRI Field Maps experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce low-level fiber designs for SMB/MDU and small projects.
• Design aerial and underground routes using GIS tools.
• Convert field notes into construction-ready designs and records.
• Maintain Vetro records and project folders; ensure data accuracy.
