Job summary

Fiber Network Services is recruiting an experienced Companywide Safety Manager to develop and enforce safety programs for fiber optic and cable constructions. The role covers field operations including aerial and underground installs, with emphasis on zero-harm culture and regulatory compliance across OSHA, DOT, and local guidelines.

The ideal candidate will lead field inspections, enforce safety standards, coordinate training, and liaise with regulators while managing regional project safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of dedicated construction safety management experience in telecom/fiber/utility projects.
• OSHA 1926 (Construction) knowledge required; OSHA 30-Hour preferred.
• Certified trainer or competent person in Excavation/Trenching and Confined Spaces desired.
• Strong understanding of MUTCD and DOT regulations and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular field safety audits of active underground and aerial fiber crews; ensure PPE and fall protection compliance.
• Enforce OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P for trenching; supervise soil classifications and utility locates.
• Oversee aerial safety programs for bucket truck operations and fall-arrest protocols.
• Manage MOT/TTC safety setups on municipal roads following MUTCD standards.
• Lead incident investigations; document findings and file OSHA/worker's comp reports.
• Develop and deliver field safety onboarding, toolbox talks, and formal training sessions.
