Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Drop Installation Technician I in Appleton, WI to perform general labor for installing fiber optic drop facilities. The role requires on-site work with in-field support and occasional travel within local area.

Eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus with payout terms. Applicants should reside within a 60-minute drive from Appleton or Green Bay, WI and be able to work overtime or various shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor.
• Assist with and perform the transportation of required construction equipment to and from the worksite.
• Assist with and perform the placement of new drop facilities.
• Install and/or sets enclosures (buried and aerial) vaults, pedestals, and handholes.
• Mark/label fiber optic and/or copper facilities.
• Assist with fiber splicing and repairs.
• Perform landscape restoration after project completion.
• Service, cleans, maintains, and repairs equipment.
• Complete all related paperwork.
• Provide assistance to field services technicians, as needed.
