Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Drop Installation Technician I to perform general labor for installing fiber optic drop facilities. The role requires residence within a 60-minute drive of Eau Claire, WI and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include transporting equipment, installing drop facilities, enclosures, and handholes, labeling facilities, assisting with fiber splicing, and completing related paperwork. It may require some travel and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and remain eligible for DOT requirements.
• Ability to climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures.
• Willingness to work overtime and varied shifts as needed.
• Must pass Safety Course curriculum and customer-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor and transport construction equipment to the site.
• Install and set enclosures, vaults, pedestals, and handholes (buried or aerial).
• Mark fiber optic and copper facilities and assist with fiber splicing.
• Complete related paperwork and support field services technicians.
• Perform landscape restoration after project completion and maintain equipment.
