IT&E is seeking an Outside Plant Technician for a temporary, year-long BEAD project. The role involves installing and maintaining copper and fiber optic infrastructure, splicing cables, and supporting field engineering with detailed reporting.

Responsibilities include testing with OTDR and power meters, producing accurate staking sheets, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, FCC, NESC, and NEC standards. Relevant certifications are desirable but not required at hire.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent required; technical schooling desirable.
• 3 years of outside plant installation/repair experience; 6–12 months in OSP construction preferred.
• Fiber optic cable installation and repair experience desirable but not required at time of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Install, maintain, and repair outside plant infrastructure including copper and fiber optic cables.
• Splice copper and fiber optic cables and maintain splicing records and schematics.
• Test and troubleshoot fiber with OTDR, optical power meter, and fiber scope.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA, FCC, NESC and NEC standards.
• Provide on-the-job training to interns or trainees.
• Support project timelines and maintain field notes and staking sheets.
