Job summary

MasTec Communications Group seeks a Directional Drill Operator/Locator to support underground conduit and fiber optic cable installation. You will operate bore equipment, coordinate with the Drill Locator, and ensure public safety while reading utility locates for daylighting.

Transport of heavy equipment is required daily. At least 2 years of urban directional drilling experience and a valid Class A CDL with a clean record are expected.

• At least 2 years of utility directional drilling experience in an urban environment.
• Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills.
• Ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams for project builds.
• Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support directional drilling for underground conduit and fiber optic cable installation.
• Operate a horizontal directional bore in coordination with the Drill Locator to install coax and fiber systems.
• Ensure safety of the public and other underground utilities.
• Read utility locates and coordinate daylighting of facilities.
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site daily.
