Job summary

Lam Research Corporation in the California Bay Area seeks a start‑level technician to prepare STEM samples using FEI/ThermoFisher Helios FIB‑SEM tools and image in STEM. The role includes FIB‑SEM analysis, EDS, and CD‑SEM, with a front‑end night shift from 5pm to 5am and a hybrid on‑site/remote model.

Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, inspecting materials for surface defects, and collaborating with development engineers on prototypes.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience with a BS degree in a physical science, or a specialized AS degree or equivalent professional training on materials science and analytical techniques.
• Shift work: front end nights. Work days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday. Schedule time 5pm-5am.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, check-out, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, descriptions, layouts, or defined test plans.
• Test and troubleshoot system-level and component-level issues in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems.
• Inspect materials, components, or products for surface defects and measure circuitry using electronic test equipment, precision measuring instruments, microscopes, and standard procedures.
• Conduct operational testing and fault isolation on systems and equipment to help determine effective methods to remedy malfunctions.
• Use test and diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
• Collaborate with development engineers in creating, designing, testing, and troubleshooting prototypes and models.
