Job summary

Abacus Insights in Boston is seeking a Healthcare Integration Engineer to design, build, and maintain our next-generation clinical data platform. You will architect scalable healthtech solutions, develop FHIR-compliant APIs, and manage high-throughput clinical datasets across enterprise EHR systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in healthcare software engineering, healthtech integration, or clinical informatics.
• Hands-on experience with HL7 FHIR resources, profiles, extensions, and RESTful interactions.
• Experience with Firefly Server and Firely .NET/C# SDKs; performance tuning and system design.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs adhering to FHIR US Core standards.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize Firefly Server and related Firely tools for high-concurrency data requests.
• Design and administer MongoDB schemas for complex FHIR JSON documents.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines to transform legacy clinical data into standardized FHIR resources.
• Ensure HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2 compliance for persistence, transmission, and integration.
