Job DetailsJob Location: Atlantic Cape Admin Office S52 - Atlantic City, NJ 08401Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $50,960.00 - $50,960.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: Up to 50% JOB FUNCTION: The FGP Coordinator leads the day-to-day volunteer and volunteer station operations of the AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program. Under the direction of the FGP Director, the Coordinator serves as the primary program contact for volunteers and stations and coordinates recruitment, enrollment, orientation, placement, ongoing support, monitoring, training, retention, performance follow-up, and routine problem resolution across assigned service areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Implement volunteer recruitment activities and represent FGP at community events, recruitment activities, station meetings, civic programs, and outreach opportunities.
  • Respond to prospective volunteers, conduct applicant interviews, assess program fit, and guide applicants through the enrollment process.
  • Coordinate eligibility requirements, required documentation, background-check processes, orientation, and onboarding in collaboration with administrative staff.
  • Assess volunteer interests, skills, availability, and transportation needs and coordinate appropriate volunteer station placements.
  • Conduct volunteer orientation and coordinate pre-service activities before volunteers begin service assignments.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day program contact for active Foster Grandparent volunteers and maintain regular communication and follow-up.
  • Monitor volunteer attendance, schedules, leave, service status, transfers, assignment changes, and other day-to-day service matters.
  • Monitor volunteer performance; provide coaching and corrective guidance; objectively document concerns; and make recommendations to the Director regarding continued service, reassignment, corrective action, suspension, or separation.
  • Address routine volunteer concerns and problem resolution and promptly elevate significant, repeated, high-risk, or policy-related matters to the Director.
  • Coordinate volunteer retention, engagement, recognition, milestones, return-to-service, and separation/exit activities in accordance with program procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with volunteer station supervisors for routine operations, assignments, reassignment needs, and station requests.
  • Conduct routine site visits, volunteer observations, and station monitoring; document findings and coordinate required follow-up.
  • Coordinate completion and review of volunteer assignment plans, evaluations, station documentation, and other required program records.
  • Provide technical assistance to station supervisors regarding volunteer roles, expectations, boundaries, schedules, and FGP procedures; support the Director with new station development and MOU renewals.
  • Coordinate and help facilitate volunteer orientation, pre-service training, in-service meetings, recognition activities, and other required program events.
  • Monitor volunteer compliance reports and follow up directly with volunteers regarding missing, expiring, or required program documentation.
  • Coordinate timely collection of volunteer timesheets, resolve missing or questionable program information, and conduct program-level review after administrative processing and peer review.
  • Monitor implementation of FGP performance measures at the volunteer and station level, identify gaps, and provide accurate operational information for grant reporting.
  • Assist the Director with implementation and communication of policies and procedures; maintain appropriate case notes and knowledge of relevant community and older-adult resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, education, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education and experience considered
  • Experience in volunteer management, human services, education, older-adult services, community programs, or a related field preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, customer-service, conflict-resolution, interviewing, public speaking, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organization, independent judgment, follow-through, confidentiality, and ability to manage competing priorities across a multi-county program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn volunteer-management databases and electronic program systems
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel regularly throughout assigned service areas; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
