Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer for Duke Perinatal Raleigh in Raleigh, NC. The role covers diagnostic OB/GYN ultrasound exams, fetal wellbeing assessments, and potential coverage at Cary and Durham offices.

Responsibilities include assisting in invasive procedures, maintaining equipment, and supporting education of residents and fellows while providing compassionate patient care in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by CAAHEP; ARDMS certification may substitute.
• ARDMS OB/GYN certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
• Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform OB/GYN ultrasound examinations including basic and detailed anatomy sonograms and fetal wellbeing assessments.
• Assist physicians in invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS.
• Assist in saline infusion sonography.
• Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and adapt procedures to findings.
• Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to the physician.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the examination.
• Assist with daily operations, maintain equipment and teach ultrasound technology to trainees.

Education

CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

ARDMS OB/GYN certification within 18 months

Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (desirable)
