Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Landscape Spray Technician to perform fertilization and pest management on residential, governmental, and commercial properties. You will work outdoors, using spray and injection tools, with training provided.

The role emphasizes diagnosing insects and lawn conditions, communicating treatment plans to clients, maintaining equipment, and driving to sites. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities for advancement and benefits.

Qualifications

• Appreciation for outdoor work and physical activity.
• Background in horticulture or landscaping is preferred.
• Knowledge of turf, weeds, trees and shrubs is beneficial.
• Ability to complete Davey first aid, CPR, and defensive driving on hire.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Florida CPCO license/certificates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungi and pest-prone areas.
• Educate clients on diagnoses and prescribed pest control, aerification, seeding, and fertilizer services.
• Monitor lawn quality and adjust fertilization methods; communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive to job sites and properly operate and maintain truck and sprayer equipment.

Position Overview

Performs fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns using spray and injection tools on landscape of private, governmental or business residencesby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
• Properly identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungus conditions, and pest prone areas.
• Communicate with and educate the client regarding the diagnosis and the prescribed pest control, aerification, seeding, and fertilization service with customers.
• Continuously monitor lawn quality and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate truck and sprayer equipment.

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: background in Horticulture, or Landscaping
• Preferred: Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID knowledge
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
