Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a Landscape Spray Technician to fertilize and manage pests on trees, shrubs, and lawns at residential and commercial properties.

The role involves diagnosing pests, educating clients about treatments, and maintaining equipment in a client-facing on-site environment. The ideal candidate loves the outdoors and may hold an Oregon pesticide license, with background in horticulture or landscaping and knowledge of turf and shrub IDs.

Qualifications

• Outdoor love and enthusiasm required.
• Oregon pesticide license preferred.
• Background in horticulture or landscaping preferred.
• Turf, weed, tree and shrub ID knowledge preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Position Overview

Performs fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns using spray and injection tools on landscape of private, governmental or business residences by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
• Properly identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungus conditions, and pest prone areas.
• Communicate with and educate the client regarding the diagnosis and the prescribed pest control, aerification, seeding, and fertilization service with customers.
• Continuously monitor lawn quality and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate truck and sprayer equipment.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Oregon Pesticide License
• Preferred: background in Horticulture, or Landscaping
