Job summary

Axia Women’s Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Fertility to join our Oradell, NJ team with occasional work in Livingston. The RN will coordinate patient care, educate patients, and assist with pre-/post-op processes and procedures in a fertility center.

The role requires an NJ RN license, accredited nursing program, phlebotomy experience, and CPR certification. Schedule includes mornings with flexibility for satellite locations as needed, and compensation ranges from $36 to $45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program required.
• Active New Jersey RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 year experience working as an RN in a fertility setting, required.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Chaperoning during early morning monitoring.
• Welcoming new patients to the center and explaining logistics of their care.
• Patient education and injection training.
• Patient phone calls/reviewing instructions.
• Cover the PACU pre-op and post-op care as well as cross cover cases in the OR (egg retrievals, embryo transfers, hysteroscopies and D&C).
• Assist with prior approvals for meds as needed.
• Advocate for patients and function as middle support between providers and patients.
• Follows established triage protocols and guidelines to evaluate and assess patient healthcare needs based on signs and symptoms.
• Accurately documents signs/vitals, symptoms, and complaints, nursing assessment, provided advice, and patient response into the EMR.
• Pulls labs/imaging results and adds to the EMR and consults with physicians on all results of testing.
• Obtains appropriate input and direction from Axia provider, as needed, to determine the best clinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient care.
• Educates patients and families about prescribed follow ups, medications, therapies, and teaches self-injection techniques as needed.
• Follows policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as to improve healthcare outcomes of patients.
• Assist, as needed, with phone triage.
• Assists with medication refill requests.
• Performs phlebotomy.
