Job summary

Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist for an on-site, part-time role. The schedule is every other weekend morning shift with pay between $20 and $23 per hour, commensurate with experience.

You will perform phlebotomy, care for fertility patients, manage supplies, and support lab processing and patient education as part of a national fertility network.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal MA program is preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment is essential.
• Attention to detail and data entry accuracy with computer systems is required.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience and familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform high volume of phlebotomy.
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations.
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs.
• Provide patient/couple counseling and procedure teaching.
• Provide pre and post op education.
• Perform semen washes and set up for IUIs.
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
• Enter labs and print labels in the computer.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Work independently to assure program goals are achieved.
• Support and promote excellence in customer service.
