U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking a Marine/Maritime Assistant Engineer to support the Jamestown Scotland Ferry operations.

You will monitor and control the main engine and auxiliary machinery to ensure a safe voyage for passengers and crew, following USCG and VDOT practices. This full-time role can be based at Jamestown or Surry on the riverbank. The successful candidate holds an MMC‑endorsed Assistant Engineer (at least 3000 HP), a valid TWIC, Coast Guard credentials, and is prepared for

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required and five years of related experience.
• Coast Guard Engineering Credential and MMC endorsement for 3000 HP.
• TWIC and CPR/First Aid certifications must be current.

Mansioni

• Oversee vessel machinery, perform minor repairs, and inform the Captain of deficiencies.
• Operate main engines and auxiliaries per USCG/VDOT regulations.
• Conduct drills, crew training, and ensure readiness for inspections.
• Maintain engineering logs and fuel readings, and report records timely.
• Maintain vessel security, assist passengers, and respond to emergencies.
• Work outside normal hours during emergency operations as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
