U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management service company, seeks a proven Ferry Crewmember to join the vessel crew and assist with loading/unloading vehicles while maintaining safety and complying with U.S. Coast Guard regulations.

The role represents the company in a positive manner and supports at-sea operations. Core responsibilities include directing vehicles and passengers, assisting with lines, standing lookout when required, patrolling decks, and performing security

Qualifications

  • Experience performing manual labor with a variety of hand tools.
  • Experience participating in and performing emergency response activities.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and the public effectively and courteously.
  • Knowledge of seamanship, line handling, and marine terminology.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • All new hires are required to get a Merchant Marine Credential – endorsed as AB or QMED within two (2) years of the date of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience or training may substitute for education.

Responsabilités

  • Direct vehicles and passengers to the proper location with clearly understood signals during loading and unloading operations.
  • Ensure proper spacing between vehicles, allowing for safe egress of passengers.
  • Properly chock first and last vehicle in each lane.
  • Provide information and assistance to passengers.
  • Properly handle vessel lines as required.
  • Correctly stand lookout watch when required.
  • Properly patrol decks and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Ensure cleanliness of assigned areas and empty trash.
  • Serve as emergency Helmsmen.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and orderliness of the vessel.
