Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. seeks a Ferry Captain to direct the ferry’s activities, operate the vessel safely and efficiently, and serve as the primary onboard contact with the USCG for compliance. The Captain administers training and drills aboard the vessel, ensuring a high level of customer service.

The role requires a current USCG license and TWIC card with dock/marina experience, ability to work in all weather, and strong leadership to supervise crew and maintain logs and records.

Qualifications

• Current and valid USCG Captain license is required.
• TWIC card must be valid.
• Dock/marina experience preferred.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs and perform emergency duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation, cleaning, and general upkeep of a passenger vessel.
• Safe vessel tie up to docks, piers, ships and moorings.
• Positive communication with client crew.
• Passenger embarkation/debarkation safety and operation.
• Repair and modification of related equipment such as pumps, lines, hoses.
• Grease, lube, and maintenance of marine systems.
• Maintain accurate logs and records.
• Interact with customers and management in a professional manner.
• Dock hand work and support of non-motorized waterfront operations.
