Female Teen Leadership Coordinator - Camp Shady Brook (Summer)

Join us as the Female Teen Leadership Coordinator - Camp Shady Brook (Summer) at YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region.

This role supports the Y, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Teen Leadership Director will lead the Counselor-in-Training Program and the Leadership Development Program for teen campers, focusing on developing future leaders through intentional programming. The position also involves being part of the summer Leadership Team.

Summer season runs from 5/25 to 8/1, with room and board provided.

Responsibilities

1. Lead two four-week CIT programs and two two-week Leadership Development Programs in collaboration with the Associate Executive Director.
2. Live in assigned housing with program participants during their stay.
3. Conduct camper evaluations and provide feedback for growth.
4. Design, implement, and evaluate curricula for CIT and LDP programs.
5. Participate in staff training and meetings.
6. Support camp activities and administrative tasks as needed.
7. Ensure programs meet ACA and state standards.
8. Maintain the health and safety of campers and staff.
9. Model positive behavior reflecting core values.
10. Monitor behavior, enforce safety, and manage conduct.
11. Consult daily with the Associate Executive Director.
12. Evaluate the season and update the Teen Leadership Coordinator manual.
13. Work weekends as assigned.
14. Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in youth camp settings.
• Ability to supervise teenage campers.
• Current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications.
