Liberty University seeks a Residency Director to mentor Resident Assistants and oversee housing operations in on‑campus residence halls. The role involves developing staff, coordinating housing changes, and providing 24/7 crisis support to students.
Requires a bachelor’s degree with pursuit of a master’s degree and 1–2 years in student development. The position includes on‑campus housing, diverse programming, and leadership opportunities within Residence Life.
Resident Directors mentor and assist Resident Assistants whilemaintaining the residential facilities and promoting biblicalcommunity, diversity, leadership development, and spiritual growthamong on-campus students in the residence halls to which they areassigned. Resident Directors live on campus, in residence hallapartments, and provide 24/7 on-call responses to the halls theyoversee for student behavioral and crisis situations. Additionally,they monitor the maintenance, custodial and communication needs ofthose residence halls. The Resident Director works collaborativelywith the other Resident Directors in the Office of Residence Lifeto assist with student development and programminginitiatives.
Resident Directors provide staffing for the following academicbreaks: Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring, and Easter break.Resident Directors also serve on a weekly rotating basis as thecampus wide On-Call Resident Director throughout the academicyear.

The working environment in which one will typically perform theessential functions of this position is in an office setting.However, work frequently occurs in a variety of other settings;including, but not limited to, residence halls, warehouses, andoutdoor activities.
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required fortravel in the performance of the essential functions of thisposition. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptableDMV record, and liability insurance is required.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications,experience, education, skills, and certifications, along withUniversity needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarksmay be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity toensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensationstructure.
