Job summary

The Polk County District Attorney’s Office in Livingston, Texas has two immediate openings for felony prosecutors. Salary is $120,000 and includes health insurance, TDCRS retirement benefits, MCLE costs, bar dues, and TDCAA membership.

Each selected prosecutor will handle cases from intake to disposition, evaluate files across two district courts, and engage with victims, law enforcement, and the community while pursuing felony jury trials and pleas as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute assigned felony cases from intake through disposition.
• Evaluate cases and review other files in the assigned court.
• Contact victims and coordinate with law enforcement agencies.
• Negotiate pleas and try appropriate cases to jury verdicts.
• Engage in substantial felony trial work in the assigned court.
• Contribute to courtroom strategy and case preparation.
