Job summary

Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking a Felony Prosecutor to join a team dedicated to protecting the community, pursuing justice, and providing thoughtful representation of the State of Ohio.

The role offers ownership of complex felony cases from indictment through trial and post-conviction proceedings, with opportunities to engage with law enforcement, victims, and witnesses across the criminal process.

Qualifications

• Ohio license to practice law.
• Experience in felony prosecutions preferred.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Strong judgment, integrity, and resilience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Advocate in the courtroom, handling cases through all stages including pre-trials, negotiations, plea and sentencing, trials, evidentiary hearings, and appeals.
• Work with victims and witnesses to help them understand the legal process and prepare them for court.
• Collaborate with experienced prosecutors and justice-system professionals while managing your caseload and taking ownership of your work.
• Serve as a legal resource to the Prosecuting Attorney, law enforcement agencies, and colleagues on a wide range of criminal-law matters.
