Job summary

H-E-B Fellows Internship in San Antonio welcomes first-year college students to a 10-week, in-person program designed to develop leadership and enterprise understanding within the retail industry.

Participants rotate through divisions, receive coaching and mentoring, and have opportunities for a full-time offer at the end of their junior summer internship. Housing support is available for qualified candidates and some roles may require evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills.
• Organization and time-management skills.
• Professionalism and willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for leadership and deep interest in the retail industry.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, shift focus between tasks, and pay attention to details.
• Have the drive to get things done.
• Are currently a first-year student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.

• Oversee a project and create a solution for a current business challenge – we see these solutions get implemented across the business every summer
• Receive ongoing coaching, mentoring and development that will help you develop skillsets for your future career
• Network with Senior Leaders and Partners across all divisions
• Serve Texans through community outreach opportunities
• Go behind-the-scenes to learn more about our supply chain, logistics and retail operation divisions
• Collaborate and network with interns representing universities from across the nation

Responsibilities

Internship Summary

Helping Texans is the H-E-B Way. Spend 10 weeks with us exploring the retail industry as an H-E-B Fellows Intern. A multi-year Internship program that develops the next generation by equipping participants with comprehensive skills, Enterprise understanding, and a strong foundation for leadership. Interns will rotate through a different division each summer year for a total of three years with the intent to extend a full-time offer at the end of their Junior summer Internship. Program dates will be from May 24th – July 30th. Fellows with Corporate teams will be required to be In Person out of our San Antonio offices. Housing support will be available for qualified candidates. Fellows within Store Operations and MWT will have variable weekly schedules, and hours will vary based on a retail schedule including some night and weekend shifts.

Program Expectations

• Must have reliable transportation or be open to using public transportation
• Must be available for the entire 10 weeks
• The availability to commit to full-time work in-person for the duration of the Internship, and work a varying work schedule, if required
