Internship Summary

Helping Texans is the H-E-B Way. Spend 10 weeks with us exploring the retail industry as an H-E-B Manufacturing Intern. Program dates will be from May 24th - July 30th. The days and hours you’ll work will vary based on an operations schedule to include nights and/or weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

H E B's manufacturing, warehousing, and transportation (MW&T) divisions support each of our retail locations, and our Supply Chain Team innovates and executes to optimize source-to-shelf operations. Providing our customers with products they love is a big job, and the 12.1 million square feet of our distribution centers help make that possible. Our Supply Chain Partners are key to helping stock H-E-B Stores and keeping our supply chain moving all over Texas and Mexico.

H-E-B self-manufactures 1,650+ products in our 15 Manufacturing Plants. Not to brag, but that includes 1.5 billion slices of bread, 64 million dozen tortillas, and 12.5 million gallons of ice cream per year. And yay for the 40,000 dairy cows it takes each day to manufacture our milk! Our goal is to achieve superior self-manufactured products through high-quality, low-cost products and services, so we can stay competitive and successful in the omnichannel business and delight our customers.

You’ll focus on process improvement activities which eliminate known losses in manufacturing operations. In addition, you’ll support Plant teams in achieving self-manufactured products, develop and train others, and foster our commitment to obtain superior service levels.

Program Expectations

• Must have reliable transportation, you may be placed in a work location up to 45 miles from your home address
• Must be available for the entire 10 weeks
• The availability to commit to full-time work in-person for the duration of the Internship, and work a varying work schedule, is required

Physical And Other Requirements

• Function in a fast-paced, manufacturing plant and office environment
• Lift 20 lbs. or more on an occasional basis
• Work rotating schedules
