Job summary

Sofidel America is seeking a Safety-focused Feeding Pulper Operator to ensure smooth pulper feeding and uninterrupted paper production at our Arizona mill. You will operate pulper feeding equipment, monitor material flow, inspect raw materials, and assist with maintenance and safety procedures.

We value reliable teamwork, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Training provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, paper mill, recycling, pulp processing, or industrial settings preferred.
  • Experience operating industrial machinery, conveyors, pulpers, or material handling systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and monitor pulper feeding equipment, conveyors, pumps, and associated systems.
  • Feed raw materials into the pulper according to production requirements and specifications.
  • Monitor the pulping process to maintain proper material flow and support uninterrupted paper production.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and remove contaminants before entering the pulping process.
  • Monitor and maintain bale handling, conveyor, material transfer, and pulper feeding systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities, mechanical issues, safety concerns, or process upsets.
  • Perform routine inspections of pulpers, conveyors, pumps, and material handling systems.
  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned equipment and identify opportunities to improve reliability and safety.
  • Assist with troubleshooting operational and equipment issues.
  • Assist in clearing jams and material flow disruptions while following all safety procedures.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities, equipment cleanouts, shutdowns, and startup activities.
  • Maintain accurate production records and operational documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies including Lockout/Tagout requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Feeding Pulper Operator

We are seeking a safety focused and dependable Feeding Pulper Operator to support our paper manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the continuous flow of raw materials needed to support paper production and overall mill performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and monitor pulper feeding equipment, conveyors, pumps, and associated systems.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, paper mill, recycling, pulp processing, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Experience operating industrial machinery, conveyors, pumps, pulpers, or material handling systems preferred.
  • Experience working with recycled fiber, OCC, or stock preparation systems is a plus.
  • Experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, skid steers, or other mobile equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout procedures and industrial safety practices preferred.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating 12 hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Dependable attendance and commitment to maintaining consistent work performance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in hot, humid, dusty, and noisy manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
Work Environment
  • Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, humidity, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Regular work around conveyors, pulpers, pumps, bale handling systems, and production machinery.
  • Strict adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.
