Job summary

Kent Nutrition Group in Sheldon, IA is seeking a Machine Operator for the first shift to support feed production. This role involves operating production equipment, performing quality checks, handling ingredient receiving and load-out, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

The successful candidate will have at least a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year manufacturing experience, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.
1+ year of manufacturing experience.
Farming background a plus.
Mechanical aptitude preferred.
Basic computer knowledge.
Good communication, verbal, written and math skills.
Able to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers and customers.
Ability to work as a team member.
Thorough understanding of cGMPs, OSHA safety requirements, HACCP FSMA.
Ability to lift at least 55 lbs and operate a forklift.
Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products.
Operate the bagger, sewing machine, forklift and all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow warehouse and loading protocols.
Ensure quality assurance for ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging.
Record and document all feed manufactured during shift.
Mix and prepare livestock feeds accurately and efficiently.
Assist management with production scheduling and inventory control.
Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
Provide excellent customer service and support.
