Job summary

KENT Nutrition Group, Inc. in Sheldon, IA is seeking a Machine Operator to join our production team. This first-shift, hourly position requires careful operation of feed manufacturing equipment and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include operating bagger, sewing machine, forklift, recording production data, assisting with scheduling and inventory, and maintaining a strong safety culture. High school diploma or GED and 1+ year manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Farming background a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.

• Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products.
• Operate the bagger, sewing machine, forklift and all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow warehouse and loading protocols.
• Ensure KNG's quality assurance is met regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging.
• Record and document all feed manufactured during shift.
• Mix and prepare livestock feeds accurately and efficiently.
• Assist management with production scheduling, inventory planning & control for ingredients and finished products.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
• Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused individual with a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. This is a first-shift, hourly position with a schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering opportunities for growth and advancement, along with a comprehensive benefits package

• This position is designed and intended to be performed in Sheldon, IA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products
• Operate the bagger, sewing machine, forklift and all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED
• 1 plus years of manufacturing experience
• Farming background a plus
• Mechanical aptitude preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic computer knowledge
• Good communication, verbal, written and math skills
• Able to effectively communication with customers, co-workers and customers
• Ability to work as a team member
• Thorough understanding of cGMP's
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, HACCP Feed & Safety Plan, and FSMA
• Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs from floor to working height as job requires
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
