Job description

Overall Job Function

A feed mill supervisor is the driving force behind a high-performing operation—leading the team, overseeing production, and ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is a dynamic leadership role where hands‑on industry knowledge meets people management, problem‑solving, and decision‑making.

From coordinating daily production and optimizing feed formulas to managing inventory and maintaining equipment performance, the supervisor keeps every part of the mill in sync. Just as important, they lead and support a team of operators, setting expectations, training employees, delegating tasks, and making real‑time decisions to keep production moving. Whether it’s troubleshooting a mechanical issue or coaching an employee, no two days are the same.

Feed mill supervisors are also responsible for upholding strict quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with organizations like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). They create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement—making sure both people and processes perform at their best.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on leadership, enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, and wants to make a real impact in agriculture. It’s more than managing a mill—it’s leading a team that keeps the entire operation running strong.
