Job summary

Prestage feeds is seeking a dependable Feed Mill Operator to manage intake and processing of ingredients, ensuring quality feed production. The role includes receiving multiple ingredient types, operating forklifts for storage, and maintaining strict safety and housekeeping standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include inventory analysis, loading out feeds for deliveries, sampling ingredients, and adhering to OSHA lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• Receive bagged, dry bulk, liquid and pneumatic ingredients.
• Operate forklift to unload bagged ingredients into storage.
• Complete inventory analysis of ingredients for FIFO process.
• Maintain housekeeping of ingredient and feed areas per OSHA standards.
• Sample dry, liquid and pneumatic ingredients.
• Operate feed batching, loading and load-out equipment daily.
• Monitor pellet throughput and quality.
• Follow lock out-tag out procedures for maintenance.
• Wear required safety equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes).

Responsibilities

• Load ingredients into storage using forklift and unloading equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support FIFO processes.
• Ensure cleanliness and safe operation of all feed area equipment.
• Take representative samples of ingredients for quality checks.
• Prepare and load-out feeds for delivery to farms.
• Monitor equipment performance and support maintenance as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and safety protocols.

Job description

The feed mill operator is responsible for receiving, inspecting and process ingredients to produce high-quality feed. The operator will load out appropriate feed to feed tankers for delivery to the farms and will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

• Receive bagged, dry bulk, liquid and pneumatic ingredients.
• Operate fork lift to unload bagged ingredients into proper storage.
• Complete inventory analysis of ingredients for FILO process.
• Maintain housekeeping of ingredient and feed areas per OSHA standards.
• Sample dry, liquid and pneumatic ingredients.
• Operate ingredient truck and feed mill receiving and load out equipment on a daily basis.
• Operate feed batching, grinding, pelleting and liquid application equipment on a daily basis.
• Monitor pellet throughput and quality.
• Utilize OSHA safety standards.
• Utilize lock out - tag out process as required for equipment inspection and maintenance.
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for position - hardhat, safety glasses, steel toed shoes.
