Overview
CHS, Inc. is looking for a driven individual to join our Animal Nutrition team in Norfolk, NE as a Feed Mixing Operator. This role is key in formulation of high‑quality ingredients to improve animal health. The position offers an 8 a‑5 p day shift, competitive pay, and unbeatable benefits.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled and comply with company policy and government regulations.
- Work with customers courteously and professionally.
- Prepare trucks for loading/unloading, including sampling, loosening nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
- Load and unload inputs from trucks using heavy or light‑duty machinery/equipment.
- Control and monitor all load‑out functions.
- Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks such as lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms; inspect equipment for leaks.
- Monitor and maintain inventory quality.
- Keep work areas clean, orderly, and safe; perform housekeeping duties (sweeping, shoveling, power washing, scraping, cleaning spills).
- Perform general grounds duties as needed.
- Perform warehouse work including operating loader, forklift, and general maintenance.
- Report customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisor promptly.
- Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Must meet minimum age requirement.
- 1+ year of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Mill, production, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Pre‑employment screening may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins.
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation includes a base wage and may include bonus, incentives and commissions.
