Job summary

CHS Inc. seeks a Feed Mill Operator for its Tillamook, OR facility. You will operate mill equipment, support daily production, and help keep the plant running safely and efficiently. No direct feed mill experience? On-the-job training is provided to get you up to speed.

The position offers a 2nd shift from 10am to 8:30pm, onsite training, and competitive pay with benefits. CHS is a large cooperative dedicated to high-quality ingredients and customer service.

Qualifications

  • This role requires knowledge of operations, production, manufacturing and/or agriculture environments.
  • Must meet minimum age requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate feed mill equipment (grinders, mixers, batching/pelleting systems) under supervision.
  • Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients; load and unload trucks.
  • Prepare loadout and ensure accurate product delivery.
  • Monitor batching/scaling systems and adjust processes for quality and production.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and report issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe mill environment and meet daily production targets.
  • Follow safety, quality, and compliance standards with the team.

In this role, you’ll help produce high-quality livestock feed by operating equipment, supporting day-to-day production, and keeping the facility running safely and efficiently.No direct feed mill experience? No problem. We provide on-the-job training!

This position offers a 2nd shfit from 10am-8:30pm, 4/10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday, onsite training, forklift certifications, competitive pay & benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of the largest cooperative in the U.S. Sold mostly in bulk, our feed mill is a key component in the formulation of the highest quality ingredients and all the essentials to improve health, performance and production.

Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, operate feed mill equipment (grinders, mixers, batching/ pelleting systems) of a processing facility. Responsible for product quality, meeting safety requirements, and throughput in the assigned area.
  • Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients, load and unload trucks
  • Prepare and manage loadout, including opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery
  • Monitor batching/scaling systems and adjust processes to maintain feed quality and production accuracy
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance (greasing, inspections, minor troubleshooting) and report mechanical issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe mill environment through daily housekeeping, spill cleanup, and site upkeep
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards while working with the team to meet daily production target
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Knowledge of operations, production, manufacturing and/or agriculture environments.
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
  • Ability to operate machinery such as conveyors, forklifts and electric hoist
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • Working knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods of time, as well as in confined spaces and in hazardous environments.
  • Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet including walking, standing and climbing steps and ladders, and working at heights up to 120 ft.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear all required protective equipment may include respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection.
  • Ability to use both automated and manual tools and equipment.
  • Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Ability to work in noisy ,dusty, and all-weather conditions

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
