Job summary

Gold Star feed mill in the northeastern U.S. oversees all aspects of production, delivery, maintenance, and customer service. The Plant Manager provides day-to-day leadership to ensure safe operations, quality feed, and reliable service for dairies.

You will lead the plant team, manage staffing and equipment, ensure CGMP compliance, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• College degree in Ag Business or Feed/Milling Science is a plus.
• 2–3 years feed mill supervisory experience preferred; exposure to batch feed manufacturing, pelleting, grain processing, and truck/rail operations.
• Strong detail, multi-tasking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Positive, self-motivated with organization and communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and leadership to build a safe, productive environment.
• Strong customer service commitment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, timely, and quality-controlled feed production.
• Own plant production planning including scheduling, labor, equipment, ingredients, and coordination with transport.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, overtime, and performance management.
• Identify production constraints and develop solutions to minimize impact on production and service.
• Maintain Safe Feed/Safe Food certification and CGMP compliance.
• Oversee inventories and corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Ensure quality-control procedures and communicate findings to leadership.
• Lead safety performance and enforce policies; hold employees accountable.
• Interview, onboard, train, and develop employees; enable cross-training.
• Develop leaders and succession plans within the plant team.
• Monitor costs and opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Report plant performance to senior leadership and take corrective actions.
