Job summary

The Equity is seeking an Effingham-based Feed Mill Maintenance Technician to support safe, efficient milling operations. You will repair equipment, manage maintenance projects, and uphold GMP and safety standards at the Effingham Feed Mill.

You will also gain knowledge of computer-controlled processes and participate in ongoing training as directed by the Feed Department and Safety Director. Travel may be required within the Equity trade area, including potential visits to other facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have a good driving record.
• Ability to troubleshoot advanced mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues.
• Background in mill production or agriculture is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Ability to interact effectively with management.
• Self-motivating personality and team-building skills.

Effingham - Feed Mill Maintenance Technician

In the Feed Mill Maintenance Technician role, you are responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Effingham Feed Mill. The role ensures all personnel, safety, Safe Feed/Safe Food, quality standards, and GMP requirements are followed while maintaining and repairing mill equipment and facilities. Responsibilities also include managing larger repair projects, supporting preventive maintenance efforts, maintaining knowledge of computer‑controlled processes, and participating in ongoing training as directed by the Feed Department and Safety Director.

$23-$32 per hour

Key Responsibilities

While performing daily duties the employee will be working near moving mechanical equipment, in outside weather conditions, and may have exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally works in high precarious places. Peak seasonal periods require extended hours. Must be available for emergency breakdowns (nights, weekends, and holidays).

Travel

The employee may be required to travel to other facilities in The Effingham Equity trade area.
